Peppermint oil benefits:
- Strong and refreshing peppermint scent
- Popular with aromatherapists to create an atmosphere of clarity
- 100% pure and natural
Refreshing and invigorating
The refreshing scent of peppermint oil is exhilarating and cleansing at the same time. Peppermint is actually a blend of watermint and spearmint, which grows in Europe and North America. Its scent is wonderfully strong, which you would know from rubbing or using fresh mint in your cooking.
Peppermint oil is renowned for its antimicrobial properties and exceptionally fresh and strong scent. This is why you’ll find it in many toothpaste varieties, plus mint is often used to freshen your breath. If you fancy creating a 100% natural toothpaste, take a look at our very own toothpaste recipe.
The antimicrobial properties may also benefit those who suffer from dandruff or a dry scalp, by adding a couple of drops to your shampoo or conditioner.
Relieve the senses
Many aromatherapists and masseuses use peppermint in a blend with other essential oils to help relieve and revive tired or sore muscles. Just make sure you dilute the peppermint oil to 2% strength, as it’s of strong essential oil quality. It's also generally advisable you only use this oil couple of times a day, as it can irritate the skin.
Peppermint oil is often vaporised so its energising scent can fill the room and create a atmosphere of clarity.
Peppermint oil uses:
- Create your own toothpaste (see link above)
- Vaporise with a vaporiser or oil burner to create a zingy, energising and clarifying scent
