Mint leaf tea is one of the most popular teas amongst tea-drinkers – caffeine free, and a popular choice for relieving nausea or other tummy discomfort. If you’ve eaten something that didn’t agree with you, or over-indulged, some believe mint leaves are the number 1 choice for relieving bloating and bad gas.
We decided to give our mint tea a bit of a kick by adding lemon and orange peel. These 2 citrus friends love hanging out together and we’ve introduced them to mint to create a new, formidable trio. Lemon is a well-known detoxifying agent and is another digestive aid, as well as providing an instant hit of refreshment.
To bring these wonderful herbs alive, use one bag per person, straight into boiling water and infuse for up to 10 minutes. 1 bag per cup. Best served without milk.
We like ours best served hot in the winter and served cool over ice in the summer (a wonderful alternative to the sugar-laden iced teas you’ll find on supermarket shelves).
