How to make frozen banana & peanut butter lollies

Don't let the fancy photos fool you, these lollies are easy to make and perfect for the kids to get involved with - just be prepared for some chocolatey hands!

First things first, you'll need to cut the ends off your bananas so they're flat. You'll then pierce your bananas with a wooden ice-lolly stick and place in the freezer (on a tray) to harden for 45 minutes.

Once your bananas are cool, remove them from the freezer and cover in peanut butter and crushed peanuts. Once covered, pop back in the freezer for 30-60 minutes until the peanut butter is frozen.

10 minutes before removing the bananas from the freezer, melt your dark chocolate in a bowl over a small saucepan filled with boiled water. Once melted, leave to cool slightly and then cover your peanut butter bananas with the chocolate. As you cover them, you'll find the chocolate will harden quickly. Cover all bananas and then place back on the tray before sprinkling with more crushed peanuts (if you wish). Place in the freezer to set for another 20-30 minutes.

Remove your bananas from the freezer when you're ready to enjoy!

These frozen snickers lollies are creamy, chocolatey, nutty and utterly delicious. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

  • Handful crushed peanuts
  • 1 bar dark chocolate (pure cocoa will be dairy-free)
