Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is the instrument in producing the happiness neurotransmitter serotonin. It plays an important role in removing excessive homocystine (a form of amino acid) from our blood after consuming meat. Some researchers therefore suggest that it’s important to monitor our pyridoxine levels as it is cholesterol. Just like vitamin B1, individuals that consume too much alcohol can often suffer from pyridoxine deficiency.
